Hairdressers On a Mission for Eternity - Estilistas en una Mision para la Eternidad

Since 2001, I (who can never get a good picture of myself!)have been taking this trip to Vicente Guerrero and taking other hairdressers with me. We have discovered the needs are tremendous in the area of abuse and just poverty. We would like to be able to address it in various ways and one is to be able to help women become independent financially with a better career than say the strawberry fields for $10 a day.
WHAT WE TRULY NEED IS THE MONEY TO FIND A SAFE SHELTER AND MORE HELP WITH JOB TRAINING! HOW DO WE DO THAT??
The government will not remove the husband unless the bruises last 30 days!!! or they will take the children away....not many moms want that! If the husband goes to jail...they are full support for the family?!
We need to do something sooner than later.

God has plans for Andres and his two children now living with him too. He carves the most beautiful soap flowers and other creations to sell at the mission while he attends the Bible Institute (www.ffhm.org) and has a church started south of San Quintin. His barber business has been affected by the economy shutdown in Mexico.

<  Here is my special gift of HAND CARVED roses.

Andres was paralyzed from a gunshot wound over a $6 drug deal (he being the dealer!)  With the most amazing testimony of the saving power of Jesus Christ, his story is being heard by many now!

We not only have witnessed his transformation, we found out he cuts hair for a living ($2 a cut) and just the day before, his clippers gave out. We were able to supply him with all his needs and more to come! This was 2 years ago and the visit in June '08, those clippers gave out just the day before we left again! We are constantly being confirmed    that our job is blessed!

Meet Felipa.. she is amazing and the miracle story is still happening. She is a local midwife that delivers 2-3 babies a week...on a cement floor! When we met her, she had no gloves to wear...no water to wash with....no plastic bags to dispose...no receiving blankets or layettes....and a rusty washing machine with no sides, drum exposed....sitting outside! The praise report is that she is studying at the nearby hospital to be a nurse! This is God's favor as He answered our prayers!
Thanks to our clients and other donors, all of her needs have been met...and then some!

Thanks to Westminster Presbyterian Women's Association for the hundreds of lovely quilts, receiving blankets, cloth mom's bags and help with gas and the washer!       May God Bless your loving hands!
Margrit Montgomery, Jackie Norris, Cindy Ross, Bonnie Boushelle and DeAne Winkler for all you round up for her also..a big thank you too!
